Based at Harborview, University of Washington Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, and the Eastside, the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine provides comprehensive services in the areas of Arthritis, Foot and Ankle, Fractures and Trauma, Hand and Upper Extremity, Hip and Knee, Metabolic Bone Disease, Oncology, Pediatrics, Shoulder and Elbow, Spine, and Sports Medicine. Our program is a national leader in orthopaedics, and the only nationally ranked program in the Pacific Northwest, according to U.S. News & World Report for 2020-2021.

Hip and Knee Center

The Hip and Knee Center specializes in the evaluation and management of hip and knee conditions, with a specialty in the surgical treatment of these joints. We perform primary, and the revision of total joint replacements, as well as corrective osteotomies. Our team of specialty trained operative and non-operative physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists and nurses use a multi-disciplinary approach to provide the best treatment plan for patients. We partner with our patients to develop an individualized plan that will provide the maximum recovery of hip and knee function.

Oncology (Sarcoma Service at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance)

The Sarcoma Service, a specialty program of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), provides comprehensive evaluation and management for patients with sarcomas (malignant tumors arising in connective tissue or bone) and benign soft tissue or bony tumors. The Sarcoma Service is a collaboration between the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research CenterUW Medicine, and Seattle Children's Hospital.

Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital is known for developing innovative treatment and providing world-class care. We see a wide variety of conditions that affect the growing muscles, joints and bones of children and teenagers. These are called orthopedic conditions.
