Howard A. Chansky, M.D.
Professor and Chair
Dr. Chansky is Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He is a specialist in bone and soft tissue tumors, and practices at UW Medical Center, Northwest Medical Center and at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System.
He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and then his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he also did his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery. He came to Seattle for a fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at UW Medical Center in 1992. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery
He believes that regardless of a patient's problem, the key to good patient care is to always be a good listener.
