Dr. Sangeorzan earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of Michigan and doctor of medicine degree from Wayne State University in Detroit where he also completed his residency before coming to the University of Washington for a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology and a second in foot and ankle reconstruction.

He has received the Resdient Teaching Award, the OREF Clinical research award, The Mann Award for clinical research, the AMSUS Award for contributions to military care, and the Paul Magnusson Award for sustained contribution to clinical research for veterans' care.

Dr. Sangeorzan's clinical interests include:

  • deformities of the foot and ankle
  • sports injuries or major trauma to the feet and/or ankles
  • arthritis
  • disorders of the ligaments and tendons.

He and his team provide three functions to patients: To educate about the disorder, inform rehabilitation strategies and provide surgical treatment.
