Congratulations to Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine’s Janice Olivo, PA-C, for receiving a UW Medicine Cares Award!
The UW Medical Center Cares Award recognizes UW Medicine health care providers, staff members, or teams that exemplify UW Medicine's Service Culture Guidelines. Janice was nominated for and won this award for revolutionizing the care of orthopedic patients on 6SE at the UW Medical Center. Some of the statements from those who nominated Janice included:
- Janice improved morale of nurses on 6SE as they became less reliant on tracking down busy residents who were working off of the floor
- Janice improved morale of residents by improving their quality of life by letting them focus more on direct educational activities
- Janice improved morale of attending faculty due to all of above.
Janice has helped improve the quality of care we provide, patient and family satisfaction, patient safety, and the morale of everyone that works with her. Janice has been a vital part of our department from the time she joined. Her attentiveness to patients often goes unnoticed, which speaks to her humility. In conjunction with our residents, she has vastly increased our discharge metrics to meet and exceed the levels expected by hospital leadership.
The UW Medicine Cares Award epitomizes her character. Congratulations!
