The necessary and sufficient criteria for the diagnosis of capsulorraphy arthropathy are:

A. History

  1. Functionally significant restricted glenohumeral motion
  2. History of previous repair for glenohumeral instability

B. Physical examination

  1. Limited motion and function (especially external rotation)
  2. Diagnosis is supported by bone on bone crepitance

C. Radiographs

  1. Joint space narrowing
  2. Periarticular sclerosis
  3. Periarticular osteophytes
  4. Diagnosis is supported by posterior glenoid erosion with posterior subluxation of humeral head
