Congratulations to Dr. William Ledoux and Dr. Scott Telfer!  Drs. Ledoux and Telfer's book Foot and Biomechanics was recently published by Elsevier.

Foot and Ankle Biomechanics comprehensively covers the anatomy, measurement, and function of the foot and ankle in the normative, pathologic, and clinically treated states. The book begins with anatomy, anatomical nomenclature, and detailed descriptions of the various tissue types in the foot and ankle. The measurement procedures for quantifying foot function are reviewed and special emphasis is given to various imaging modalities and computational modeling techniques that are often employed to study the foot and ankle. Following this, the book explores common musculoskeletal pathologies, including those typical in early life; those acquired due to injury, disease, or overuse; and those associated with age. The last chapters focus on clinical treatments, both conservative and surgical, covering topics such as orthotics and prosthetics, footwear, fracture fixation, reconstruction, as well as joint fusion and replacement.

Foot and Ankle Biomechanics is intended for foot and ankle biomechanics researchers, bioengineers, graduate students in biomechanics.

Foot and Ankle Biomechanics features several chapter contributions from current and former UW Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine faculty and trainees.

William Ledoux, PhD, is Associate Director of the VA Center for Limb Loss and MoBilitiy (CLIMB).
