Welcome to Dr. Jared L. Harwood!
Dr. Harwood is an Assistant Professor and our newest faculty member joining our Oncology service.
Dr. Harwood earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Japanese. Dr. Harwood received his M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine as part of the Navy's Health Professions Scholarship Program. After medical school, Dr. Harwood completed a general surgery internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NH) before training as a naval flight surgeon and completing a tour of duty in Japan. Dr. Harwood went on to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at The Ohio State University and a fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology at the University of Chicago.
While in residency at The Ohio State University, Dr. Harwood also obtained his full-time MBA at OSU's Fisher College of Business with an emphasis on operations.
Dr. Harwood has an interest in health policy and has worked on solutions to provide medical care to underserved areas and graduate medical education reform.
Dr. Harwood will be seeing patients at the Oncology Center at UWMC-Roosevelt.
