Douglas G. Smith, MD

Dr. Douglas Smith is a graduate of University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine.  Following his orthopaedic training at Loyola University Medical Center, he completed a Foot and Ankle Fellowship with Dr. Sigvard Hansen at Harborview Medical Center.

He started as an Assistant Professor at University of Washington in 1990 and is currently an Associate Professor.  He is Medical Director of Amputee Coalition of America and Director of Prosthetic Research Study.  Dr. Smith is a consultant to the Walter Reed Army Amputee Care Program.  He is Editor of Third Edition of the Atlas of Limb Prosthetics and Amputation Surgery and has presented at numerous medical meetings.  He is Principal Investigator to several research grants and has several articles published.
