Sohail K. Mirza, MD
Dr. Sohail Mirza is a graduate of the University of Colorado.
Following his training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of
Washington he a completed fellowship in spinal surgery at Harvard
University.
He began as an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington
in 1995 and has been an Associate Professor at the University of
Washington since 2001. Presently he is the Director of Spine Trauma
Research at the University of Washington.
With a predominant interest in spine surgery and spine tumors, Dr.
Mirza has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles, eight book chapters
and has presented at numerous medical meetings. He is the Principal
Investigator of a National Institute of Health research grant to study
the safety of spine surgery and has participated as a PI or co-PI on
many research studies.
He was honored as one of five American Orthopaedic Association ABC
Traveling Fellows in 2003 and one of five AOA North American Traveling
Fellows in 1997.
