The University of Washington Medical Center was again ranked highly for
orthopaedic surgery by US News and World Report, this year being listed as 15th
in the nation.
Dr. Michael Lee specializes in degenerative conditions of the spine and has a particular interest in newer surgical techniques including minimally invasive approaches and disc-replacement surgeries.
Dr. Cavanagh has been invited to deliver the keynote talk at the International Osteoporosis meeting
Dr. Beingessner, Assistant Professor, received 2008 spring quarter's HMC CARES Service Excellence Award.
Dr Henley has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS)
Dr. Leopold lectured recently in San Francisco at the annual meeting of the
Hippocrates Winslow Babbage Foundation.
Dr. Maheshwari, orthopaedic resident, has been nominated by the Program Director and Chair of Orthopaedics to attend the 2008 AOA-OREF-Zimmer Resident Leadership Forum.
Dr. Chapman has been invited by the Department of the Army to spend 2 weeks as an Orthopaedic Distinguished Visiting Surgeon at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

Dr. Chapman, Director of Spine Service, was elected to the AO foundation Board of trustees
Dr. John O'Kane, associate professor of orthopedics and sports medicine at the UW Medical Center, is featured in The Seattle Times.
In the September 2007 issue of Seattle Magazine, more UW Orthopaedic faculty
were listed as "Top Doctors" than physicians from any other orthopaedic program
in Seattle.
Dr. Maheshwari, orthopaedic resident, to receive Frank B. Smith Memorial Award from the North Pacific Orthopaedic Society.
UW Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Hansen featured on 570 AM KVI Sunday, July 29, 2007.
Dr. Wagner recently was named to the prestigious AOA Society, a society
composed of surgeons dedicated to furthering the field of academic
orthopaedics.
