Cancer can spread into bones - developing into metastatic bone disease
which can lead to pain, weakened bones, and fractures in some patients.
Learn how orthopaedic surgeons improve the quality of life and support
the care of a patient with this disease. UW Medical Center's Dr. Jason
Weisstein and his patient, Helen Clark Johnson, discuss Helen's arm
that fractured from cancer, and the surgical procedure used to help her
regain her mobility. The discussion includes diagnosis and the
sensitive task of crafting a treatment plan.
