between PAs, physicians, residents, nurses and other medical staff can

orthopedic surgeon and PA ensures continuity of patient healthcare,
commitment to personalized treatment, and makes certain patients will
have greater access to care. The goal of this team is to magnify the
efficiency and safety in the clinic and operating room, and to make

An interview with Suzanne L. Slaney, PA-C, ATC, MMS

Suzanne Slaney joined the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine as a certified physician assistant (PA) in November 2005. She complements and extends Dr. Wahl’s sports medicine practice at the UW Sports Medicine Clinic and Eastside Specialty Clinic.

The University of Washington Medical Center was again ranked highly for
orthopaedic surgery by US News and World Report, this year being listed as 15th
in the nation.
Dr. Beingessner, Assistant Professor, received 2008 spring quarter's HMC CARES Service Excellence Award.
Dr Henley has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS)
Dr. Leopold lectured recently in San Francisco at the annual meeting of the
Hippocrates Winslow Babbage Foundation.
Dr. Maheshwari, orthopaedic resident, has been nominated by the Program Director and Chair of Orthopaedics to attend the 2008 AOA-OREF-Zimmer Resident Leadership Forum.
