Philosophy of care/General Information:I seek to partner with my patients to help them stay healthy and active and achieve their competitive goals, from a run around Green Lake to the Olympics. As an avid athlete and head team physician at the University of Washington, I have a great deal of interest and expertise either personally or professionally working with athletes in skiing, cycling, rugby, windsurfing and NCAA team sports including football, soccer, volleyball, tennis, swimming, track, baseball, softball, and gymnastics. As a primary care sports physician, I employ non-surgical interventions and rehabilitation to overcome and prevent injuries, returning athletes of all ability to peak form . When the need for surgery arises, I feel fortunate to be partners with some of the best orthopaedic surgeons in the country.

An interview with John O’Kane, M.D. Dr. O’Kane grew up in Vermont attending Dartmouth College. He was a varsity letter winner in football and directed the Dartmouth Ski School as an undergradulate. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Biology and attended medical school at the University of Vermont where he was awarded membership in the AKA medical honor society. Read More

Dr. Beingessner, Assistant Professor, received 2008 spring quarter's HMC CARES Service Excellence Award.


Dr Henley has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS)


Dr. Leopold lectured recently in San Francisco at the annual meeting of the Hippocrates Winslow Babbage Foundation.


Dr. Maheshwari, orthopaedic resident, has been nominated by the Program Director and Chair of Orthopaedics to attend the 2008 AOA-OREF-Zimmer Resident Leadership Forum.
