Children's Orthopaedics

Children’s Orthopaedic Department serves families throughout the nation. We see a wide variety of conditions that affect the growing muscles, joints and bones of children and teenagers. These are called orthopedic conditions.

The doctors, nurses and staff of our Children’s Hospital Department of Orthopedics specialize in the needs of young people whose musculoskeletal systems are still developing. We also provide prenatal evaluations for abnormalities that are present at birth (congenital), and that are passed down from parents to children (genetic).

Dr. Song, Associate Professor of UW Orthopaedics and sports medicine, has been listed as "Top Doctors" in the category of "Pediatric Orthopaedics". News source:  Seattle Magazine, September 2007.

Our patients see us for treatment of immediate problems, such as the more than 1,000 children who come to us each year with broken bones. We also care for young people with ongoing conditions that are present at birth or develop over time, such as bone tumors, scoliosis, foot conditions and dwarfism.
