Retired orthopaedic surgeon Frank Alvine, UWSOM 1964 and Orthopaedic
Surgery Residency 1972, has been named as an inductee to the South
Dakota Hall of Fame by its Board of Directors.

John Sidles, Professor of Orthopedics, is the Principal Investigator for the "Advancement of Magnetic Resonance Force Microscopy to Single Nuclear Spin Detection" project that will be conducted in the Department's MRFM Program (in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering Department.)
Dr Green has been selected as one of the 2005 American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine Traveling Fellows. The tour is scheduled for May 8 - June 4, 2005, and will visit Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

The Board of Regents of the University of Washington approved the appointment of Dr. Jens R. Chapman as the first holder of the Hansjoerg Wyss Endowed Chair, effective January 1, 2004. Dr. Chapman's extensive background and outstanding achievements make him an excellent choice for the Wyss Chair.
