AAOS 2019 Annual Meeting Wrap-Up

UW Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine faculty's hard work was well represented at the annual academy meeting in Las Vegas this year. Our department had the great fortune of having two posters taking best in their respective categories. Dr. Gendelberg's poster, “Are We Obtaining Too Many Cervical CTs in Pediatric Trauma to Evaluate for a Subaxial Injury? A Quality, Safety, and Value Analysis,” took first place in Pediatrics and Drs. Hsu and Matsen’s poster, “Should Explants Be Cultured at Revision Shoulder Arthroplasty?,” took first place in the Shoulder and Elbow category. Additionally, Dr. Cizik presented the poster she and Dr. Thompson created on “Orthopaedic Oncology and Preoperative Counseling: What Influences the Patient’s Choice Between Limb Salvage and Amputation?"

We are pleased to have had our department so well represented at the annual academy meeting and look forward to highlighting our next year’s contributions.
