Dr. Chris Kweon presented at the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Health Conference, May 10-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada

Christopher Kweon, M.D.Dr. Christopher Kweon, team doctor for Husky athletics and orthopaedic surgeon at the UW Sports Medicine Center at Husky Stadium, was at the 2018 Pac-12 Student-Athlete Health Conference on May 10-12 to present on his project “Injury Prevention: Simple motion capture technology for readiness of return to sport assessment and injury risk prevention.” This project was awarded a grant in 2017 from the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being Initiative.

This project will help determine if simple motion capture technology is a suitable and cost-effective alternative to the more expensive and complicated standard motion capture technologies currently used to measure abnormal joint movements in determining readiness to safely return to sport.

Motion capture technology can be used to assess movement of an athlete or patient and can help in the evaluation and analysis of injury risk, rehabilitative outcomes and sport performance.
